The eHealth Support Officer Program (eHSOP) commenced in 2009–10 in order to assist the Division Network to deliver programs to general practices that are supported by best practice information management practices.
In 2010–11, the eHealth Support Officer Program aims to support the eHealth agenda nationally by undertaking activities to promote the ‘Change and Adoption’ work stream described in the National E-Health Strategy (2008).
This Program aims to provide support and education to Division/General Practice Networks to allow them to support the primary health care sector to adopt and continue to use eHealth systems and services as they become available.
Nationally, eHealth Support Officers are located in each State Based Organisation (SBO) to promote change and adoption by providing appropriate resources and increasing knowledge and understanding of the eHealth environment among Divisions/General Practice Networks and primary care.
The eHSOP within the ACT SBO supports the ACT Division of General Practice plus six Divisions within the South East NSW catchment area.
