Our Quality Use of Medicines program aims to provide education, support and facilitation of projects and programs that promote the quality use of medicines to GPs, pharmacists, other relevant health professionals and consumers.
Aims
  • Achieve safe, effective and appropriate use of medications by providing appropriate continuing professional development.
  • Support and facilitate programs such as the Home Medicines Review (HMR) program which detects and addresses medication related problems that interfere with desired patient outcomes.
  • Improve patients quality of life and health outcomes using a collaborative approach between GP, pharmacist, other relevant health professionals and the patient (or where appropriate the carer).
  • Improve patients and health professionals' knowledge and understanding about medications.
  • Facilitate cooperative working relationships between members of the health care team.
