Maternal and Child Health
The ACT Division of General Practice Maternal and Child Health Program promotes quality primary health care for mothers during the perinatal period and their children as they develop.
Aims
- Provide general practice input to policy development and implementation - including the federal and territory Australian National Breastfeeding Strategy and National Perinatal Depression Initiative
- educate GPs and practice nurses in provision of best practice care guidelines for the target group
- advocate for and represent ACT general practice as a key stakeholder in maternal and child healthcare issues.
