The ACT Division of General Practice Maternal and Child Health Program promotes quality primary health care for mothers during the perinatal period and their children as they develop.

Aims

  • Provide general practice input to policy development and implementation - including the federal and territory Australian National Breastfeeding Strategy and National Perinatal Depression Initiative
  • educate GPs and practice nurses in provision of best practice care guidelines for the target group
  • advocate for and represent ACT general practice as a key stakeholder in maternal and child healthcare issues.
