Make a difference to general practice and primary health care in Canberra.
The ACT Division of General Practice is an independent organisation supporting general practitioners in delivering primary health care to the Canberra community. In advocating for effective general practice, it implements a range of national and local programs and influences government policy to meet emerging health priorities.
As CEO, you will be responsible for implementing the Board’s overall strategic direction and leading and driving change to enhance primary health care capacity. You will continue to develop the Division’s respected position as a first choice policy advisor to government and other stakeholders. As a key spokesperson for the Division, you will build on its strong existing relationships within the health sector and across the Territory and Commonwealth governments. Additionally, you will oversee the management of the day to day financial and business operations, and, as Company Secretary, ensure effective corporate governance frameworks are in place.
To be a strong contender for this challenging role, you will need to be a highly motivated leader and manager with a significant track record in change management and building successful stakeholder relationships. You will also have outstanding negotiation and representational skills and high level strategic capacity. An understanding of the health care sector would be an advantage. Knowledge of the structure and operations of government is essential, as is a genuine commitment to the delivery of high quality general practice and primary health care services.
